14 Cropping

Choices, choices, going back through the images I have taken so far for the three images to crop took a while. So those I have chosen are below with brief notes why I have cropped them, in the way I have..

Image 1 – as you can see here the original image is marked to crop using the thirds grid in Photoshop:

Here is the cropped image, tightening the composition, reducing the unwanted foreground and removing as much of the waste bins as possible, whilst holding to the core subject and flags on the left.

Image 2 – as you can see here again the original image is marked to crop using the thirds grid in Photoshop:

Here is the cropped image, tightening the composition considerably, reducing the unwanted foreground, changing the format from vertical to horizontal, leaving the viewer to wonder what they are looking at…

Here is the cropped image, tightening the composition considerably, changing to a square format, which works well with the centrally balanced subject, making the viewer focus on the circular  subject..
