These images were taken in the Bay near Brighton with one of the many yachts that comes in and out of the local Marina. This exercise is to explore placing a point at different positions in the frame. Equipment used Nikon DSLR and 28-300 lens.
Image 1 – Yatch bottom left on the very bottom edge of the frame. This composition gives a feeling of isolation to the subject.
Image 2 – Yacht is placed in the dead centre of the image, deliberately static with no sense of movement, wind and isolation.
Image 3 – Now the yacht is placed top right in the image, with a lot of water in the foreground. This shot to me gives a more balanced sense of space and movement.
